With all the images in this series I wanted the characters to look strained, stressed and gaunt. It just doesn't make sense that they'd all look as good as they did when they started out. So Illusive like the others has face fat trimmed off. I also receded his hairline a bit and thinned his lips (too many fags). I think I made his jawline weaker as well to visualise the mental strain this is all having on him.

There's also the hint of lens flares. I know we didn't see them on his eyes but you can't have ME without and I've loved them since long before their recent rennaisance.
